Apa itu exclusion zone dan bagaimana operator menerapkannya?

Exclusion Zone adalah area di sekitar operating equipment dimana entry dilarang untuk mencegah struck-by atau crushing incidents.

Kenapa Exclusion Zone Penting:

• Heavy equipment punya blind spots - operator tidak bisa see all direction
• Swinging/rotating equipment (excavator, crane) create dynamic hazard zone
• Backing equipment - highest risk untuk pedestrian collision

Exclusion Zone Distances:

General Equipment:

• Stationary: 3 meter dari edge
• Moving: 5 meter dari all sides
• Backing: 10 meter dari rear

Specific Equipment:

• Excavator: Radius of boom swing + 2 meter
• Crane: Radius of load swing + 3 meter
• Bulldozer: 5 meter all sides saat operating
• Dump Truck: 10 meter saat dumping (falling material)

How to Establish Exclusion Zone:

1. Physical Barriers

• Hard barricade: Safety fence, concrete barrier (permanent work)
• Soft barricade: Safety tape, traffic cone (temporary)
• Signage: "DANGER - Keep Out" signs visible

2. Ground Marking

• Spray paint atau chalk line untuk demarcate zone
